This Caramel Apple Martini is the perfect fall cocktail. Starting with a vodka base and then adding the warming and comforting flavors of caramel, toffee and butterscotch together with apple cider, you can create an autumn drink that is fun, easy to make for two or you can make up big batches if you are serving a crowd for a party. (You can also call this a Toffee Apple Martini).
How to make a Carmel Apple/ Toffee Apple Martini
A martini can either be gin based or vodka based.
For flavoured martinis like this I like to use vodka, as the botanicals in the gin would overpower the apple and the toffee.
You could pick a flavoured vodka here, I am thinking a whipped cream vodka would be nice. Or maybe boost the caramel flavour and use a caramel vodka.
After that it is a case of mixing everything together with plenty of ice.
What gives this Caramel Apple Martini the caramel flavor?
To give this martini the wonderful fall flavors of caramel apple, I like to use a schnapps, they come in so many flavors and add a nice sweetness to the martini.
You can pick a caramel or toffee schnapps or if you can find it butterscotch works well too.

I love September, it is the start of my favourite season, well it used to be! September to me will always seem autumny, which is silly as I am in the southern hemisphere and we are officially 2 weeks into Spring!!!! But September is when I think of the leaves turning red, the days being packed with sunshine but the nights cooling off. Now, here in Australia September means the start of new blooms, sunny days and cool mornings.
It also used to mean the start of a new school year, now it is the start of the end. Term 3 is ending and my boys are heading into the last term of the year. Then I have to kick myself a little as next year Mr 9 will be in Year 5 and Mr 6 will be in Year 1. Oh my goodness, pour me a cocktail!!!!! My babies are definitely not babies anymore!!!!!!!
All of which has nothing to do with this cocktail, but it is Friday!!!!! The sun is shining and you know you are looking at the clock and watching the weekend draw closer!
Ha!!! Have I distracted you away from my random ramblings???? September, warm sunny days and cool evenings. Unless you are somewhere along the equator and then it is just sunny!!! Oh Gawd!!! Time for me to change the subject 😉 I tell you what, instead of changing the subject I will just add another picture of this toffee apple martini and call it a day.
Enjoy - the alcohol may dull the memory of this crazy blog post!!!
Happy Fridays my beautiful foodie peeps xx

Hi Claire! Fall officially starts here either the 22nd, but it sure doesn't feel like it! We've been in the high 80's to low 90's with humidity forever! Our air conditioner has been on since May, I will be so glad when I can open the windows and let fresh air in the house! I really should not complain about our weather, we moved here from Michigan (a/k/a the land of dreary winter days with tons of snow). Here the sun shines almost every day in the winter and we do get snow two or three times, usually between 1-2"! Gary mows grass eight to nine months of the year, but he has yet to shovel snow...come to think of it I don't think we own a snow shovel anymore!! 🙂

Oh how I envy your air-con. When we got our insurance payout, we used every cent to rebuild the house, we made it bigger and added extra bathrooms, figuring that we would never get the chance to actually build the house from scratch again.
I know this was the sensible approach but I do miss some of the luxuries that we had before and gave up this time to increase the size of the house. Air-con and solar power are our biggest losses.....and next projects!
I used to love snow when we lived in the UK, but I am acclimatised to Australia now!!! The 15ºC winters feel freezing!!!!!
We are actually looking at moving to north of Brisbane!!! We fancy a new start and the warm climate!!! Off to Cairns this weekend on a reki 😉 xx

Hi Claire! I can hear happy in your "voice" and that makes me happy! 🙂 My children are about the same age difference as yours although mine are are 37 and 34...and I didn't have my first until I was 30. Probably too much information!

Thank you Dorothy xx
Never too much information Dorothy, I love hearing about your life!

Hi Claire! Fall has always been my favorite season, even though I'm not fond of what follows! Fall has not started yet here, it's still in the 90's and humid. This a perfect fall drink! And I have butterscotch schnapps in the cabinet! 🙂

Oh wow! When does fall start? Or has it officially started and no one has told Mother Nature? x
