Today didn’t start well! Mostly because it started far too early. 3:55 am to be exact!!! One wide awake 3 year old! I was not a happy Mummy! But getting him back to bed would have woken up his brother and then I would have had to deal with a major grumpy 7 year old as well as a tired 3 year old!
So I reluctantly got up. It was dark, very cold and my mood was not in the ‘Play More‘ category. More the ‘switch the tv on and try and sleep through the Winnie The Pooh Movie’ category. I didn’t manage it. But fast forward a few hours, several cups of coffee later and I was ready to face a day that was showing signs of being filled with winter sun. I had promised them a trip to the beach to run in the wind and build sand castles. So off we headed. And man they had a ball. We returned home in emergency clothing. All slightly too small as it was taken from the bag in the car boot that has been destined for the op shop for about a month. This is the second time these clothes have had an emergency outing. The last time was a couple of weeks ago when Mr 3 decided to jump in the swimming pool fully clothed whilst we were watching Mr 7’s school swimming lessons. The swimming teacher was not impressed!!! And I was mortified as it was directly in front of the school Principal. I heard later from the Principal’s wife that the incident was the highlight of his day…so at least we are not about to have to find a new school for the terror!
So back to our beach trip……..Check out how much fun they had…..And my new addiction with the ‘NOIR” setting on my iPhone. 😳
And just to show that the sun was actually out
