A great meal plan that will have your weeknight meals sorted! We have a great selection of dishes this week.
You have all heard me talk about the Witching hour, that time of day when my beautiful well behaved kids turn into monsters (disclaimer….mostly well behaved)
5pm for my kids is like water for Gremlins!
Is it the same in your house?
It is a stressful time of day, there is homework to supervise, school uniforms to wash, animals to feed and somewhere in the middle of all of that you need to get dinner on the table.
So I am got together with some fabulous food bloggers to bring you a weekly meal plan. Having a meal plan takes some of the stress out of that witching hour. Having a meal plan allows you to ‘Thrive at five’.
Each week there will be 5 main meals and 3 extras. They might be dessert, a side salad or a sneaky beverage. So you have everything to organise your week.
Below I have planned them out for how they fit best for us, but mix it up and plan your week so it works for you.
Minimal clean up, one tray dinner and on the table in under 30 minutes!
Use this for the days you are out of the house all day and need dinner in the hurry. The slow cooker does all the work, and everyone loves ramen!
Loaded Vegetarian Quesadilla with Goats Cheese, Corn, Black Beans and Pablano from Jillian at Food, Folks, and Fun.
All those wonderful flavour, no one will notice this a meatless dish! And if you don’t serve it on a Monday (I mean why follow convention) there will be no link to #meatlessMonday and I guarantee the family won’t notice.
Get over hump days with an easy, but tastes like it took so much effort BBQ dinner! (I am serving this with my couscous salad – one of the extras below!)
A simple assembly job making this perfect for our busiest night of the week.
This is healthy and easy to make. That is exactly what we need for a mid-week dessert!
A treat for the kids (And me!!!) These are a great copycat recipe.
A 10 minute side dish that is packed with flavour. Oh yes, this is a winner!
Have a great week and I hope you can get through the witching hour and thrive at five. And if not, pour a glass of wine, serve the delicious dishes and let the stress melt away as you drink your wine and know that your family has been well fed.
For weekend ideas I am starting a new series on the blog for entertaining at home. Watch this space 😀
