Today is this amazing looking Mango Smoothie from Fareeha who blogs over at Fa’s Kitchen. Her photos are stunning! I am in desperate need of her Chicken Pakoras!!!!
I’ll hand over to Fareeha now.
Let me begin by thanking Claire for having me over at her amazing space. I was always mesmerized by her photography and this opportunity makes me feel honored and humbled.
Sometimes a recipe will touch our inner chords and bring out a music of memories. Something which is gonna happen with today’s recipe too. The mango smoothie makes me nostalgic. This was something that was fun to make along with my kids. As toddlers they would happily help out “Mamma” placing the mango in the blender, while half of the sliced mango would disappear by the time we even get started making this smoothie. It was a good way to make them eat their fruit. Get them involved in the cooking and they would invariable wouldn’t stop munching on it. Now with the load of studies on their shoulders, they hardly have time for anything else. Where does the time go?
With the mango in town, there was no way I could miss making the mango smoothie. After all, we get the mango season only once a year. And we need to take full advantage of that.
There is something exotic about this rich, pulpy fruit which keeps me fixated on it always. I could think of dozens of ways to use this fruit in our diet and no one complains as everyone simply loves the mango in my home.
For the smoothie, all you have to do is just pop in the mango, milk, yogurt and some honey in the blender and run until smooth and frothy. Yes, that’s it. Your delicious and tasty mango smoothie is ready to serve. I prefer to use honey or the date syrup in place of sugar. You can totally use whatever is your preference.
I like my smoothie not to be too thick, hence I have added the milk and yogurt, but if you prefer yours to be a thick smoothie, feel free to leave out the milk and reduce the quantity of the yogurt.
